Abstract
Abstract: The present research this is an analytical, observational study of transverse type and which had as main objective to assess the awareness of women and perineal, secondarily, analyze the variables age, level of education and belief with the perineal consciousness of the participants. Were included 42 women over the age of 18 years, churchgoing Universidade Santa Cecilia. After the acceptance of their voluntary participation and signed the FICS, they answered a questionnaire containing 11 multiple choice questions drawn up by the authors of this research in order to assess the knowledge of the perineum. The research data were evaluated according to index of hits of the questionnaires answered by participants included at the end after the inclusion and exclusion criteria of research and, one could observe that 59.5% (n = 25) of the participants had between 51% index 74% of hits, as well as the overall average of hits was 72%. Not been obtained results of correlation between the level of consciousness perineal with age, education level and belief. After the final analysis of the results has been prepared a folder with content and explanatory illustrations related to the topic, in order to approach it in a way to inform and/or strengthen the knowledge of the same. There is paucity of information regarding the perineal consciousness in literature, but we have seen that some authors point out the importance of the guidance and training of the pelvic muscles to be treated and/or prevented the perineal dysfunctions. Therefore, the data of this research we illustrate that the participants have shown to have good level of perineal consciousness; Once the index hits was high.
