Abstract

The present study analyzed the repercussions of Burnout Syndrome on the quality of life of nurses working in emergency, urgent care, and intensive care units. Through a narrative literature review, using databases such as PubMed and SciELO, a high prevalence of the syndrome was identified, associated with factors such as excessive workload, occupational stress, and lack of organizational support. Burnout negatively affects both the mental health of nurses and the quality of care provided to patients. Coping strategies, such as improving working conditions and promoting emotional support, are essential to reduce the incidence of the syndrome. The study highlights the need for institutional policies that prioritize the mental health of nursing professionals.
