Applications of Genomic Advances in the Early Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by difficulties in social communication and by repetitive patterns of behavior. Genetic advances and early diagnosis of ASD represent a significant area of research in understanding and managing this complex neurodevelopmental condition. This study aimed to analyze the genetic advances associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the importance of early diagnosis. Based on a narrative review of the scientific literature, genetic risk variants and effective interventions implemented in early childhood were identified. The results highlight that genetics play a central role in understanding ASD and that early diagnosis, combined with appropriate interventions, leads to significant improvements in child development. The need for ethical and personalized approaches to the care of individuals with autism is also discussed.
