Abstract
Aiming to improve the quality of teaching for students with hearing impairments, this article deals with small-scale curricular adaptations, since there is great difficulty for teachers to work with these students in the regular classroom. These difficulties occur due to the lack of mastery of both the student and the teacher in relation to Brazilian Sign Language and the absence, in most cases, of an interlocutor in the classroom. Our objective was to provide a survey on the use of small-scale curricular adaptations in the classroom and whether the absence of this tool causes harm to the learning of these students.
