Abstract
This work aims to bring to light the purpose of the evaluation systems, the quality of education, addressing the IDEB as a guiding thread of the research. The scope of the study is to investigate the similarities and differences of the IDEB between schools in Baixada Santista. First, a bibliographic survey will be made about the forms of internal and external evaluation, the objective of each of them and the meaning of evaluation. We will highlight the PNE and PDE documents to help us understand the challenges that Brazilian education faces with regard to evaluation.
