Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the state of the art researches in distance education developed by research in the area of  concentration in education called for Teaching Science and Mathematics Teaching. To fulfill this purpose, we performed a study of the publications of the last seven years three journals indexed in SciELO database, the Journal Science & Education, the Brazilian Journal of Physics Teaching and Research Journal Essay on Education in Science, total of 683 articles were submitted to content analysis. It was found that from the total number of publications submitted for consideration only four articles contemplate the theme "distance education", thus demonstrating a possible lag of research in science teaching in regard to the issue of Distance Education.
