Abstract
There are several characteristics that make up the profile of a coach leader. Among these, two stand out and are considered the pillars of coaching: active listening and the ability to inquire. Both are methods that, when applied by the coach, aim to awaken in the interlocutor (coachee) an awareness of their personal and/or professional development and maturity. Through coaching skills, leaders have been improving themselves and helping their teams reach high performance levels. Considering the expectations that a coach leader has regarding the results and performance of their team, it is possible to correlate coach leadership with the higher education education process. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify whether, from the perspective of higher education students, teachers considered to be outstanding in their profession have coaching leadership skills and whether, as a result, they stand out from others in their role as educators. The aim is also to ratify the higher education academic environment as an environment that is favorable to the development of coaching work as a tool for leveraging the university education process.
