Abstract

This article reports the experience of extracurricular work involving the preparation of a physical model, with the participation of a group of students, for one of architect Oscar Niemeyer's projects with the purpose of representing the Santa Cecília University at the II Oscar Niemeyer World Forum held on 26 to 30 August 2019 at the Memorial of América Latina in São Paulo – SP. The exhibition in the “model” category featured approximately 20 universities nationwide and included standardization of both materials and the size of the base where the scale of the model should fit. The experience included several challenges, from the collection of iconographic material (more precisely the plans), development of technical drawings, simulation of assembly of the parts on a computer to the creation of the parts using the University's InovFabLab model laboratory. This experience demonstrated to students the importance of interdisciplinarity in preparing tasks as well as team behavior in a real work situation.
