Abstract

Non-Violent Communication (NC), a method that promotes constructive dialogue between people, presents itself as an ally in improving human relationships, especially as we age as it cultivates active listening and understanding of others. This article provides a theoretical review of the pillars of this NVC approach, and then details its advantages when applied to this audience. It also brings this review of the literature associated with four targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), fundamental pillars in building a more fair, sustainable and equitable world. From this survey, the result is a CNV information for the elderly, covering three themes in different everyday situations - the elderly's use of Transport, Technology and Home. It is concluded that when applied by caregivers, NVC enables more humanized assistance focused on the particular needs of each elderly person.
