Abstract

This research aimed to examine the relevance of the short story genre as a tool pusher in literacy processes for the acquisition and development of language (written and spoken) Spanish language, given the basic concepts and necessary for the development of learning and contributions reading, listening and writing that it can provide in this process. The work started from observing the behavior of students in 2nd year of elementary school, the private school, to watch the video "Caperucita Roja" (Red Riding Hood) and associate vocabulary, textual and context of the work to basic knowledge previously acquired in the foreign language, as well as making reference to the tale in the mother tongue. The research focused on the analysis of possible interactive activities resulting from the study of traditional folktales used with children in the early grades of elementary school I. Then we sought theoretical support in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education, the Marco Común Europeo, the National Curriculum of Foreign Language and Bakhtinian notion of genres as forms relevant to the learning of a foreign language, due to human actions, conducive to the development of strategies that facilitate understanding and enrich learning.KEY - WORDS: teaching and learning; tale; teaching tool; foreign language.
