Abstract
The Leadership emerged from the Industrial Revolution, that caused the increase of industries and many people, looking for jobs, migrated from the contryside to the big cities and with the economic growth, the companies hired employers for the manual labor and leaders to be at the forefront of the production process. It’s believed that in order to be a good leader there must be emotional intelligence, besides the technical abilities attending the expectations of the subordinates and know how to lead the team with enthusiasm. In that, the research is about how the leadership can influence the performance of the port workers, with the purpose of finding answers that indicate if it impacts indeed or not. The current article presents a quantitive research, in which we applied a survey with the total of eight questions related to theme, in two companies located in Santos: DP World (Dubai Ports World) and Rumo Logística. We obtained fifty responses where the majority demonstrates that the leaders can influence the work of the team in the daily routine, regardless of their gender, and that there’s still a small amount of leaders that do not comprehend the importance of solving problems providing teaching for the sake of excellence in tasks execution and better results
