Abstract

Ports are the main gateway not only for containers or raw cargos, but also for global connection, intermediation of products, cultures, communication, and values. The port industry has invested in technological advances to project itself into the future with the use of renewable energies and clean sources, but fossil fuels are still applied in large quantities for the operation of land equipment and ships, creating a huge challenge when we speak of air and sea pollution, in the face of a growing scenario of record movements. This article aims to propose a study on the use of sustainable technology in the port sector, given that the two factors in synergy contribute to a better performance of resources and operations, it can be said that, without a doubt, the environment and technology are the new pillars of the future. To use this theme, bibliographical studies were used based on the information collected and in accordance with other publications that are applied as a methodological basis. To emphasize and challenge this approach more assertively.
