Corrosion under isolation on flue System Air Conditioner Rolden Baptista

Main Article Content

Abstract

Corrosion under insulation on piping air conditioning system is the result of chemical reaction between the constituent elements as aluminum, ink asphalt, condensed water and chloride present in the asphaltic ink used as covering of piping system. The principal product formed from this chemical reaction is hydrochloric acid which accelerates the corrosion of the interior of the covering to the exterior which can be seen as a whitish product through perforations.

The replacement of corroded covers and the insulating sheets covered in with asphalt ink for another covering without of chloride, such as those based on epoxy resin, are solutions to this problem.
