Abstract

This article presents two methodologies related to Production Engineering: Lean Manufacturing (LM) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS). Both methodologies have changed the quality management system, which helps many businesses today. The article aims to show a comparative study between the two methods, showing the reasons for which were implanted, its advantages and disadvantages and their points of agreement and disagreement. For this research was carried out a comparative study of the main points of each methodology, by respected authors of the production area. It was concluded that it is possible to use the methodologies in synergy with a view to improving the quality and productivity of enterprises.
