Abstract
Welding processes are widely used in metallurgical, mechanical, civil, naval, and others industries. Due to the existence of different consumables, researches, studies and experiments are of great importance to identifying innovations and operational advantages with emphasis on factors such as: time, costs and logistical. This study compared the performance of metal cored and solid welding wire for jointing of 409 stainless steel tubes with plain carbon steel flanges. Fatigue test results demonstrated the benefits of using tubular wire in terms of time, quality and productivity. From this type of comparison are extracted data and parameters that permits a feasibility analysis in terms of advantages and limitations in changing the welding process.
