Abstract
The objective of this study is to presenting an application of Retrofit in an industrial plant producing Phos-phoric Acid. Replacing the Stirrer and drive system has resulted in resource optimization and increased energy effi-ciency, reducing production costs and improving product quality. In the chemical processes, and in the production of Phosphoric Acid, there is an increase in temperature, formation of mud at the bottom of the tanks, by decantation and formation of rock crystals. So that this mixing is not solid at the bottom of the tank, an agitator was used to keep the acid in motion. Agitation requires a deep knowledge in the areas of mechanics, hydraulics and chemical engineering. A company specialized in this sector system offered a solution tailored to operational priorities and results. It is concluded that the case study presented, highlighted as the main factor for its approval and investment was the estimated energy savings. Since it directly impacted the price of the ton of the final product, where the costs of all the elements used for its manufacture are aggregated.
