Abstract

The current study was developed starting from the educational concept that practical activities promote the increase of learning and the student’s interest in relation to the subject taught. As of the pretext, the construction project of a didactic bench for study of the quantity of movement in fluids incompressible was initiated. In the first version of the bench, it was realized tests modifying the flow fluid and the diameter from the exit nozzle of the water jet between 5 and 6mm. That way, the didactic module presented a 16,59% deviation and it was necessary some modifications. One of the main modifications made in the experimental bench was the change of the analogue flow meter to an electronic flow meter to minimize the reading mistakes coming from an analogue equipment and also the insertion of a 60° conical re-ducer that has as main objective the increase of the jet speed and consequently provide the increase of the jet force. After all the modifications have been made, it was realized new tests. With the obtained data in the tests was possible plot the calibration curve and also the nozzle characteristic, comparing the Reynolds’ dimensionless with the coefficient of speed obtained. These results have shown that the modifications promoted a significant improvement in the tests results, passing through 16,59% to a medium deviation of about 3%. It was possible to conclude that the bench presents satisfactory results for the intended teaching didactic purpose.
