Main Article Content

Abstract

This article presents a proposal for the elaboration of inspection routines, preventive mechanical evaluation and integrity for a shell heat exchanger with tubular bundle, used for heating 70° Alcohol in a soybean oil extraction process. The main problems that affect the efficiency of thermal exchange, intervention deadlines, scale removal methods, pipe discontinuity inspection techniques, joint tightening methods and thermographic inspections were searched in the literature. The analysis of the results points to a reduction in fuel consumption in steam generation, an increase in equipment availability and a reduction in spare parts in stock.
