Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the occurrence of accidents in an electric water heater, boiler, involving people who suffered burns. The main deviation in the functioning of the system was the supply of hot water only in the shower in an industrial locker room. For the elaboration of the work, bibliographical references were used as well as data collection in the field, location of the failure. The analyzes will be presented where the proposed ways to avoid this type of occurrence can be observed, with the use of mechanical and electrical inspection techniques, using the thermography technique and inspections of the pressure vessel. The methodologies used to carry out the failure analysis of this event also generated the need to implement improvements to allow the increase of the reliability of the water heating system, where the main actions were to revalidate the ABC criticality matrix, in addition to the creation of mechanical and electrical inspection plans with the use of thermography in control panels and electrical supply of loads, boiler body and resistor connections, in addition to generating an inspection plan based on NR13.
