Abstract

This article seeks to evaluate situations where the use of object serialization can be justified in place of the use of a relational database. To do this, we will compare the typical features of a database, normalization, with the integrity of objects in memory and analyze hybrid systems solutions, sharing the two persistence technologies in terms of what each one has to offer.
