Abstract

This article is about the impact of low-code technologies on the digital transformation of organizations. Currently, agility and innovation are fundamental to the competitiveness of organizations. In this context, low-code technologies emerge as powerful tools, capable of driving this revolution. These technologies enable the development of software applications with less emphasis on manual coding and have played a significant role in simplifying and accelerating the software creation process. The advent of low-code platforms represents a paradigmatic shift in the way software is conceived, developed, and implemented. By offering visual development environments and “drag and drop” tools, these platforms enable a wider range of professionals, including those with less programming experience, to actively participate in the development of digital solutions. This not only democratizes access to software development, but also allows companies to respond more quickly and efficiently to market demands. This research examines the benefits provided by low-code platforms, as well as the challenges and considerations associated with their use. This study highlighted the way in which low-code technologies are influencing the way companies approach software development, promoting innovation, collaboration, and agility. Furthermore, the implications of these technologies for IT professionals, organizational culture and companies' business strategy are discussed. This comprehensive analysis offers valuable insights for business leaders, technology professionals and researchers interested in the role of low-code technologies in the era of digital transformation.
