Abstract

The capacity of a process is attributed to the equipment that presents the most significant restriction after its operation, which is the bottleneck of the process, and studies are developed to eliminate or minimize its losses. In conveyor belt ore transport systems, one of the main problems is obstruction or incorrect flow of material through feed/discharge chutes and transfer gutters. Although analyses are made to use the best geometry, box wrapping, and coatings, this issue is critical in the industrial area due to the corrosive effect, abrasiveness of the material, granulometry, and the large flow of material that is transported. An empirical study of the recovery of transfer chutes and gutters and conveyor belts from the sintering process through the belt conveyor design was analyzed.
