Abstract
This is a bibliographic study about the history and characteristics of e-commerce, the logistical challenges and success factors that can leverage the industry. Electronic commerce is understood as the form of commercialization of products, services and information, using the electronic means as main tool for the acquisition of the products / services. Faced with the expansion of the sector, customers demand agility throughout the process of attending companies until the final step that is the physical delivery. Logistics can be defined as the combination of four basic activities: the acquisition, movement, storage and delivery of products. With this, logistics is considered to be largely responsible for the success or failure of many companies that sell their products over the internet. It should be emphasized that e-commerce can become the future of retail activity. And, this growth that is allied to innovation, the creation of new business models, practicality, ease and agility, among others.
