CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS CHALLENGES IN HALAL MEAT PRODUCTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
The paper addresses the concept of "halal" meat, highlighting its religious and cultural significance in Islam. The objective is to clarify the guidelines for animal slaughter, which follow strict Islamic precepts regarding animal welfare and food purity. The methodology includes a literature review on practices and interpretations of the process across different cultures and the challenges of global standardization. The results show that, despite adaptation in non-Islamic markets, the decontextualization of precepts can trivialize the practice. It is concluded that balancing commercial development with respect for traditions is essential.
