ASSOCIATIVE ANALYSIS OF SLEEP QUALITY AND RISK OF FALLS IN TRAINED INDIVIDUALS

Abstract
Population aging is a global phenomenon that, combined with increased life expectancy, brings several challenges to public health, including the preservation of sleep quality and the prevention of falls among older adults (Noh et al., 2017). According to the Brazilian government (Governo Federal, 2022), about 40% of elderly individuals aged 80 or older experience falls every year. The research methodology consisted of tests conducted and managed by the Exercise Physiology and Health Laboratory, affiliated with Universidade Santa Cecília, over two days, with 10 participants evaluated each day. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study with a quantitative analysis of the proposed variables. The conclusion identified a connection between fall risk, physical capacities, and age, but found no association with other variables such as functional reach, waist circumference, and participants’ sleep
