ARCHITECTURAL STRATEGIES CAN BE APPLIED TO CREATE AN ACCESSIBLE ENVIRONMENT OF STIMULATION AND LEISURE FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article investigates architectural strategies capable of creating accessible environments for stimulation and leisure for children with disabilities. The research employed a mixed methodology, integrating both qualitative and quantitative analyses, which made it possible to understand the objective and subjective aspects involved in the design process. The theoretical framework is based on legislation and technical standards, such as NBR 9050:2020 and the Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (Law No. 13.146/2015), as well as academic studies addressing accessibility, child development, playfulness, and Universal Design. Thus, the study seeks to demonstrate how architectural solutions can contribute to social inclusion and to the integral development of children with disabilities through carefully planned leisure spaces.
