Abstract
Accident benefit (AB) is a social security benefit due to Social Security insured people who have partial incapacity for work following trauma. People with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop comorbidities and their condition can become more chronic, but it is uncommon for them to be granted AB through administrative channels. The aim of this study is to analyze Brazilian case law on the right to accident benefits for PTSD sufferers. The article uses bibliographical research, searching scientific articles in databases and case law on the websites of the State and Federal Courts. As a result, the article identifies and presents case law favorable to the right of PTSD sufferers to accident aid.
