CADE and ANTAQ: allies in defending competition in the Brazilian port sector

Abstract
This article concisely analyzes the joint action of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) in defending competition in this sector. Through bibliographic and documentary research, the legal competencies and objectives of each body and the challenges for coordinated action are examined. The results indicate that their functions are complementary, and it is concluded that the synergy between them is crucial to ensure legal certainty and efficiency in the port sector.
