Abstract
This text is an excerpt from an ongoing research project in the area of Education, specifically in the area of Teacher Training for Inclusive Education. The objective of this excerpt is to identify the training offered and its scope. In this way, the main actions aimed at teacher training in the area of Inclusive Education by the Municipal Department of Education of Santos from 2005 to 2012 for the care of deaf students are presented. We used the methodology of documentary research to examine the documents made available by the Department on continuing education. The reflective analysis is based on the assumptions of Antônio Nóvoa, with regard to continuing education for teachers, and of Ronice Müller de Quadros, with regard to the educational needs of deaf students, as well as Skliar. The analysis reveals that there is a need for complementary and ongoing training, so that teachers can improve their pedagogical practices, aiming at the full development of deaf students with the purpose of developing actions capable of promoting the improvement of the quality of education.
