Abstract

This text is the result of a reflection on the role of a Portuguese language teacher - a brief overview of the practice carried out. The objective is to report the initial difficulties in the exercise of teaching and also a practice that proved to be successful due to the adoption of an interdisciplinary methodology. The experience carried out has the assumptions of interdisciplinarity and genre theory to support the work carried out. This is a qualitative research in the area of ​​Education, a case study that focuses on the practice carried out in a public school in the Baixada Santista region. The work carried out caused changes and required changes in habits, that is, it went in the opposite direction to the disciplinary model in which knowledge production is individual. In the interdisciplinary model adopted, there was initiative from teachers and students, which contributed to the autonomy of the group and the success of the proposal.
