THE LACK OF MALE FIGURE IN THE EARLY YEARS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Luan Adriano Silva, Sandra Maria Bezerra da Silva
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims to understand, through a literature review, the causes of the shortage of male pedagogues in the labor market. Through a historical analysis of the relationship between the female figure and child care, we seek to understand how female predominance was established in the early years of basic education. Another point addressed are the existing prejudices in relation to men as educators, from the fear related to abuse to the idea of a male "inability" to provide the necessary care for the profession. Finally, we observe the contributions that the male figure has to offer to the school environment, above all, the representation with boys.
