Abstract

Schools play a key role in building society. Brazilian education, however, faces taboos that hinder the inclusion of this type of education. The term is like an object of knowledge about life. Knowing how it is possible to approach the pedagogical role in relation to the teaching of Sexual Education in the 5th year of Elementary School, in a cohesive and safe way, is the general objective of this research. The bibliographical research is based on the assumptions of Paulo Freire (1921-1997) regarding the concept of autonomy, criticality and reality of the subject. Also in the documents published by the federal government as the National CurricularParameter (1997) and the National Common Curricular Base. When working with children, the contents should also favor the understanding that the sexual act is a relevant manifestation of the sexuality of young people and adults, not children. With regard to games that refer to sexuality, it is important that the teacher affirms as principles the need for consent and approval without embarrassment on the part of those involved. In addition, students should know that they can seek help from an adult they trust if they become involved in abusive situations. The high rate of unwanted teenage pregnancies, sexual abuse and prostitution, the growth of the AIDS epidemic, discrimination against women in the labor market, are some of the social issues that demand a position in favor of transformations that guarantee everyone the dignity and quality of life, which we desire and which are provided for by the Brazilian Constitution. The manifestations of sexuality, different at each stage of development, are an excellent opportunity for teachers to develop work that has not been previously scheduled. Sexuality generates a wide variety of feelings, sensations and doubts in students. Its manifestations are spontaneous, they happen inevitably and teachers need to be prepared to deal with them.
