Abstract
Inclusive education represents an essential paradigm in the Brazilian educational system, requiring adaptive and effective pedagogical approaches to meet the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This case study, inserted in the context of the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID), aims to explore the impact of personalized teaching strategies on the learning of an autistic student, with a special focus on the areas of Mathematics and Reading. Through qualitative analysis of the behavioral and academic responses of the student identified by Vida to adapted educational interventions, we investigated how incorporating their personal interests and adapting activities can facilitate engagement and autonomy. The methodology focused on direct observation and the implementation of specific activities, designed to align with the student's interests, such as themed games and strategic tasks. The results point to a significant improvement in Vida's focus and receptivity to previously challenging areas, indicating that personalized strategies promote not only effective inclusion, but also the enjoyment of learning. This study highlights the importance of training and working with teachers trained in inclusive methodologies, reinforcing the value of student-centered educational practices to facilitate quality education for all.
