Organizational environment and natural environment: Differences and new conceptual model Olivia Cristina Perez, Sérgio Roberto Porto Almeida
Main Article Content
Abstract
The environment has become a central matter for policy and research agenda since the 1990s. This concern also reached the practice of private organizations and even individual habits. However, in studies of administration it is not clear the difference between organizational environment and the natural environment. Furthermore, business concerns are more focused on the companies’ stakeholders - which do not include the natural environment - despite the importance of preserving natural resources. Considering these shortcomings, this paper proposes a new model for conceptualizing organizational environment that includes the natural environment, thus contributing to the debate on environment and business strategies.
