Abstract

The article highlights that the legal phenomenon is the object of study of Philosophy, Sociology and Legal Science. It shows that Law emerged in ancient communities, which organized a system of norms to govern the customs and conduct of individuals. It also highlights the importance of Hellenism and Christianity in the formation of ethical and legal ideas in the West. It states that Ethics, Politics and Law constitute pedagogical systems that aim to educate the individual and society for a life of Good. Finally, it emphasizes that in democracies it is the State's responsibility to combat social inequalities and balance opposing interests.
