Main Article Content
Abstract
When disposed of on vacant lots, in bodies of water and on the banks of public roads, construction waste causes visual pollution, attracts vectors that transmit diseases, pollutes groundwater and attracts the deposition of other types of waste. In order to comply with legislation, protect the environment and improve the quality of life of its citizens, the municipality is one of the main responsible parties for developing an integrated management plan for solid waste generated within its territorial limits, as well as for supervising generators, transporters and recipients in the final disposal of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW). Therefore, the applicability of Complementary Law 792/2013 of the municipality of Santos will be assessed with regard to large generators of construction waste and their responsibilities.
