Abstract
Law No. 12,305 of August 2, 2010, instituted the National Policy on Solid Waste (PNRS), whose objective is the Integrated Management and Administration of Solid Waste, under the responsibility of the generators and the government. With the entry into force of the new legislation, the productive sectors, traders and distributors of products need to develop Environmental Management programs to comply with the new legislation. This paper uses the concept of Environmental Management in the discussion of the PNRS and presents alternatives for Waste Management and Reverse Logistics, applied to the retail sector, using a fictitious company as a case study, as well as the evaluation of the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the presented solution.
