Abstract

Social Security - an integrated constitutional system of initiatives that aim toguarantee rights related to the social security, health and social care - must attend to all groups, especially those in situations of social vulnerability, among which we highlight: transsexuals. Transsexuals, historically, have been subjected to restrictions, stigmata and denials in public and social policies, causing violation of their dignity. The objective of this research is to analyze Social Security as a right and democratic conquest for the transsexual population in light of the dignity of the human being and to address some affirmative and health public policies of the transsexual. The method of approach of this research, was, is the historical-dialectical method, with explanatory descriptive character, being carried out a bibliographical revision. They are democratic achievements for the LGBT population: full access to sexual reassignment surgery, equality and equity in access to benefits and pension plans, parliamentary fronts of diversity, Interactive Commissions, adoption of the social name and the construction of the National LGBT Health Policy . The transgender population needs to have a seat in decision-making spaces and power agendas, contributing to their rights being ensured, implemented and developed as a measure of social justice, reflecting true health democracy.
