Abstract
The information age has brought for both private and public sector companies the need to value knowledge as a strategically relevant resource. Thus, this article aims to highlight the role of information in the development of organizations, in particular the São Paulo State Military Police, emphasizing the link between information and knowledge, institutes of productive production and improvement of intellectual capital, support operational actions of the entire São Paulo public force. To this end, part of the concepts of knowledge production, as well as its management, permeating the paths of Knowledge Management from the perspective of Information and Communication Technologies, as well as discussing information security as a guarantee of its suitability and completeness. The article also presents the intelligent systems developed and used by the Paulista Military Police to manage all the knowledge produced and used in the fulfillment of its constitutional mission. It concludes by presenting particularities on the subject, as well as an essay on the future of Knowledge Management in the Institution.
