Effective examples of how to encourage society's participation in CONSEG and strengthen the philosophy of community policing Fernando de Assis

Abstract

The aim of this article is to present mechanisms to encourage the community participation in Community Security Councils (CONSEGs), strengthening community policing philosophy and contrariwise, in other words, strengthening ties with the local citizen, to take advantage of this narrowing as a catalyst for the participation in CONSEG's meetings. The integrated work with good people and the sharing of responsibilities affects security, besides being an element recommended in the Federal Constitution in the national policy of public security, it is a measure that optimizes the preventive police action, increasing the geographical scope of action of the polices' forces, since the police cannot be at all times in all places.
