Abstract

Sexual violence amount to violence with a sexual purpose that disrespects the right to life far away from violence according by the Statute of Children and Adolescents and the World Health Organization. Considering that this violence brings with it a series of physical and psychological injuries to individuals. It is a public health problem and for this, health professionals, especially nurses, must be prepared to attend to these adolescents in an effective way, with intention to ensure the continuity and quality of assistance, avoiding the development of suicidal behavior, which is one of the possible consequences of these actions. Objectives: to identify and describe the atuation of health professionals towards adolescent victims of sexual violence and the relationship with the development of suicidal behavior. Method: integrative literature review in data bases of the health area through a survey of the scientific publication about sexual violence and suicidal behavior among adolescents between 2016 and 2021. Results: The studies reveal that sexual violence is directly related to development of suicidal behavior when not effectively aborded by health professionals, who are mostly not able to identify the characteristics and offer quality assistence care. Conclusion: Investments are needed in the training of health professionals to identify and appropriate effective conducts for adolescents who are victims of sexual violence in health facilities, preventing the development of suicidal behavior later on.
