Abstract
The present paper, formulated from the hypothetical-deductive method, aims to demonstrate that the prevention of the environment is crucial for the prevention of vector diseases, as scientific studies point to the intimate relationship between these and the advance of environmental degradation, notably through the suppression of forested areas and air pollution. Given this situation, the institute of Payment for Environmental Services – PES is an extremely relevant instrument for health promotion, especially for the reduction of risks and vulnerabilities, as the government and individuals unite in the effort for preservation of natural resources that, in view of their essential ecological services, collaborate with the removal of those dangerous situations.
