Abstract
The UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Health seeks, among other goals, to reduce maternal and infant mortality under 5 years of age due to preventable causes. Based on the information that most of the deaths described in targets 3.1 and 3.2 of UN SDG No. 3 are caused by hospital infections, this study indicates that compliance and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) programs can be applied to comply with both the UN 2030 Agenda and the implementation of the National Patient Safety Program and the Hospital Infection Prevention and Control Program. The method of documentary, exploratory and bibliographic analysis is applied to this study using indexes and data from the UN, the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization, the Ministry of Health, ANVISA, scientific articles and national legislation. The conclusion indicates that good patient safety practices associated with social responsibility must be mandatory in the compliance and ESG program to meet both international and Brazilian health goals.
