Abstract

The DDG (Distillery Dried Grain) is a co-product originated in the processing of maize and has a high protein value it follows increasingly popular in cattle diets in several countries. Within this context, our goal was to analyze the impact of the growth of this co-product on exports from Brazil. The data were collected in January 2021, through an interview conducted with semi-structured questionnaires with 40, using the "snowball" technique. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively seeking to portray the understanding among informants about the DDG co-product and its growth. According to the surveys, we found that 77.5% of respondents still have no knowledge about this co-product and its benefits, this protein phalanx has long been used by livestock farmers from other countries, with the expansion of the maize ethanol market in Brazil, the DDG begins to take up space in the parent due to its various benefits such as livestock nutrition, cost/benefit ratio, easy digestion and accessible in grain-producing regions, It is worth noting that DDG has a great chance of being one of the most exported products in Brazil.
