Global health governance and its role in addressing climate change

Abstract
Climate change represents a growing threat to human health and the sustainability of the planet. In this context, the relationship between health and climate has become central to international public policy. Objective: This article aims to analyze the role of global health governance in addressing climate change, identifying how multilateral institutions and normative frameworks can influence the adoption of cross-border environmental policies. Methodology: This is an exploratory research based on bibliographic and documentary review. Results: There is a growing integration between health and climate agendas within global governance, with emphasis on the formulation of policies and guidelines aimed at coordinated and equitable responses to environmental impacts. However, challenges remain regarding the effective implementation of these actions and the overcoming of structural inequalities. Conclusion: Consolidating an agenda that unites climate justice and health justice requires collective efforts, multilateral cooperation, and the integration of health as a cross-cutting axis in global climate policies.
