Abstract
Analyzing the retributive justice model, it is clear that this system has presented numerous limitations, impossibilities and inadequacies. The chaos in the legal scenario makes it clear that there is a need for new alternatives. One of them is Restorative Justice, whose model has already been applied in some countries, such as New Zealand, Canada and, more recently, Brazil. Restorative justice makes the community part of the process and is primarily concerned with the relationship between victim and offender, promoting democracy in the decision-making process. It includes in its core the concern for moral and social aspects. For this reason, it presents evidently effective results. Furthermore, its efficiency is verified when dealing with infractions committed by children and adolescents, such as bullying in the school environment.
