Abstract
This study aimed to demonstrate the laws available in Brazil for people with disabilities, especially children with microcephaly. Microcephaly is not considered a new disease; it has gained notoriety in recent times due to the outbreak caused by the Zika virus, which is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The provisions found show that the State, together with the family, the community and society, has the duty to ensure the protection of social rights for people with microcephaly.
