Abstract
This article aims to evaluate the consequences caused by the practice of Parental Alienation Syndrome in children in cases of marriage dissolution and stable union. From a literature review, the responsibility of the parents in relation to their children in the dissolution of marriage and stable union was discussed; about the characterizations of parental alienation; the importance of the multidisciplinary team in the resolution of conflicts arising from parental alienation as support for the judicial
decision as well as the legislation corresponding not only to parental alienation but also to the protection of children and adolescents against this syndrome. Finally it is concluded that the nature of Parental Alienation is quite complex because it involves several aspects of emotional, social, and even cultural order. Hence the importance of multiprofessional teams to support court decisions as a guarantee of meeting the fundamental right of children and adolescents to healthy family life.
