Leonardo Boff and Liberation Theories as a Praxeological Foundation for Healthcare Professionals: Caring in Perspective
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective is to weave critical connections between concepts such as healthcare for health professionals from the perspective of Leonardo Boff and other liberation theories. The method adopted was a qualitative design, with Leonardo Boff as the main theoretical reference. This research revealed that colonialist beliefs are still present in Westernized society, maintaining the process of marginalization of certain culturally oppressed groups during moments of healthcare, which favors the social vulnerabilities of specific groups. Therefore, it is urgent to foster awareness in these spaces for a more liberating form of care. The aim was to contribute to academic discussions that are attuned to care as a structuring and centralizing axis of a paradigm for health professionals, compatible with the specificities of Latin American reality, envisaging the re-signification of other projects of co-existence, civilization, and health practices.
