Abstract

This text proposes, based on a theoretical-normative approach, to analyze the impasses in the fight against slave labor in modern times, aiming to promote public policies inherent to Sustainable Development Goal No. 8 of the 2030 Agenda. Thus, it provides a brief presentation on the main aspects of Decent Work, analyzes Goal No. 8, inherent to the 2030 Agenda, due to the widespread violation of Human Rights related to the labor sphere in modern times, and discusses the difficulties in confronting contemporary slave labor. To this end, it uses the legal-deductive interpretative method, based on bibliographical research and an examination of the performance of the National Commission for the Eradication of Slave Labor. Finally, it demonstrates the performance of the National Commission for the Eradication of Slave Labor as a positive government action for Sustainable Development Goal No. 8.
